This past friday night, the varsity girls basketball team played the Northwood Panthers in a ferocius, yet extremely memorable game. Not only was friday night senior night, but also the first time this season the girls have been able to open up each side of the bleachers for a crowd.
“Friday night was awesome, our huge goal this season was to have to open up both sides of the bleachers because of a huge crowd,” Lauren Fioritto (12) said, “And this friday night we finally got to do just that.”
The girls lost to northwood friday night, but that is not what will be remembered. The idea that much of the team will not be returning next year, and the achievement of a goal is what the team will remember.
“It’s always sad when you’re an underclassmen going to senior nights,” Aimee Dietz (12) said, “but it’s so sureal going to your own and realizing that you won’t be coming back.”
Aimee was the leading scorer friday night, with a total of 9 points. For her senior night was a night to celebrate and remember.
“It was so sweet being the leading scorer,” Dietz said, “I couldn’t have asked for a better way to go out of the season.”
The girls have a little bit longer to go in their season, check them out and help them pull out both sides of the bleachers.
